    Pre-hospital organisations

    Many organisations, regional, national and international are involved in the work of pre-hospital care; improving education in this specialism and also ensuring that the highest quality care is delivered to all those that suffer traumatic injuries. Follow these links to their sites to read more about their work and to make use of their resources.

     

    • Pre-Hospital Care World was founded as Pre-Hospital Care UK and is now an international organisation that promotes awareness of PHC, education in this speciality and fundraising for launching PHC work in East Africa.
    • The College of Emergency Medicine is closely associated with the progression of PHC in the UK, including formation of a speciality training pathway for Pre-Hospital & Retrieval Medicine.
    • Faculty of Prehospital Care is at the forefront of the progression of PHC in the UK.
    • BASICS is a long-standing charitable organisation that provides specialist PHC via voluntary practitioners across the UK, also provides training.
    • Intensive Care Society is a representative body for specialist intensivists with details on training and representation of PHC practitioners from within this field.
    • WMPRS is the West Midlands Paediatric Retrieval Service that facilitates the transport of critically ill children around the region to ensure the highest level of care is provided.
    • Trauma.org is an international group associated with shared learning of trauma cases and details of electives.
