UK Bacterial Cell Wall Biosynthesis Network

UK-BaCWAN

Aims of the Network

[c]
  • To create a multidisciplinary forum for chemists, physical scientists and biologists to discuss emerging novel research in bacterial cell wall assembly

  • To facilitate discussions about opportunities and new technology for antibacterial drug discovery

  • To enable technology transfer between institutions by funding visits to laboratories with complementary research skills

  • To offer industrial scientists an opportunity to follow current research that is developing in academia, and for academics to further links with industry. This would include pharmaceutical companies interested in antibacterial research and companies involved in the development and manufacture of cutting edge analytical facilities e.g. for high throughput mass spectrometry, surface plasmon resonance, proteomics, metabolomics, bioinformatics, membrane protein crystallography etc.
