Cell Signalling

[c]

Cell SignallingThe Cell Signalling RIG represents widespread areas of interest across the department, with microbiologists, virologists, eukaryotic cell biologists, through to those with interests in physiology, neurobiology and molecular medicine.

We hold two workshops each academic term to facilitate understanding of this important area of modern biology. The next workshop is sheduled for the end of November 2007.

Future topics aim to include: Insulin signalling; Two component signalling in pro and eukaryotes; Ciliary signalling; Purinergic signalling; GPCR mediated cell signalling (olfactory, pain, pheromone etc; Signal transduction through MAP kinase pathways; Wnt signalling in pattern formation; Quorum sensing, Cell signalling in chemotaxis; Signalling in the stem cell niche; Eph and Ephrin signalling in cell cell communication; Signalling through ion channels; Signalling in response to NO, nitrite and oxidative stress.

We welcome futher ideas on topics and speakers in this area.
