Atomic - Student Priorities - Model Kits, Textbooks, Low Income, Expertise
Atomic is the Department of Chemistry's successful and highly active student society.
The work that they do is incredibly valuable to maintaining the Warwick atmosphere of openness, friendliness and support.
Donating to the Chemistry Student Priorities Fund gives our current students the opportunity to help decide spending priorities. The priorities identified below have been agreed in consultation with our student society.
Giving our students responsibility to decide spending priorities of the Chemistry Student Priorities Fund within donation guidelinesis a key part of their professional and personal development.
You will be help develop this by donating.
Your donation to Atomic can be in time, resources or money.
If you can give time to talk about your career, to mentor or develop current students, then please get in touch.
Each year the Alumni team consult with Atomic and give them control over their component of the Alumni Budget, known as the Student Priorities Fund for Chemistry.
Here are their spending priorities for this year:
Time and Expertise
We want to see more people from industry teaching on our courses
I want to know how to do a technical interview - and perhaps practice with a real industry representative
Buildings and Equipment
If we are able to, we would like to give model kits to all new first years
Scholarship
We would like to see textbooks available for students on low incomes so that they can own the main course texts
We would like students from low-income backgrounds to be supported with living expenses
Giving to Student Priorities
To give generally (students decide spending) to Student Priorities,
please specify 'Chemistry Student Priorities Fund' on the giving form
To give specifically add 'Chemistry Model Kits', 'Chemistry Textbooks', 'Chemistry - Low Income' to your entry.
Please note that this will restrict your donation ONLY to what you have specified. More freedom is given by the overall Chemistry Student Priorities Fund.
