    We need your expertise!

Alumni, Parents and Friends help the running of our department by helping us with the planning of courses, teaching, Mentoring and Developing Students and ultimately to taking our students as interns or paying for individual or collective research projects.

The great thing about giving some of your time is that it is incredibly rewarding, and may be the only thing you can do in the early stages of your career. Many of our undergraduates go on to PhD programmes here, and give their time in activities like teaching for undergraduates or to outreach work for local schools and the general public.

Chemistry Postdoc Raphael Da Campo is a regular speaker at the Leamington and Warwick Cafe Scientifique:
A great example of how alumni can help get messages about the science at Warwick to a wider audience.

What do I get if I give my time?

Access to the brightest Students in the country

In exchange for some expert time, you can begin to build relationships with the next generation of scientists - this is stimulating and rewarding in itself, but this could be your next generation of potential recruits, colleagues and friends. If your company hasn't got the resources to pay for national recruitment programmes, giving as little as six hours a year can allow you access at the heart of the one of the country's top departments.

Contact f.j.friel@warwick.ac.uk or call us on +44 2476 150221 for advice, or look at our mentor scheme pages provided by our central alumni team

Contribute to the development of the next generation of scientists

Contributing back can be a reward in itself, or you can view it as a great way to update your CV and work with one of the highest ranked departments in the Country. We are always interested in ways that alumni can mentor, teach, help design courses. You may find other ways in which your time could be useful.

    Careers help and mentoring

Many of our alumni go on to careers in Industry Finance, Public Sector, Government, the Armed Forces, and many more. These areas can be of great mystery to undergraduates, and you can help a great deal by sharing your experiences both good and bad. You can do this informally at one of our networking or careers events, or your can formally become one of our mentors, or come as an expert in your field to our Alumi Series of 'Careers for Chemists'

You would be very welcome, and your help would be very much appreciated by our students.

Please contact f.j.friel@warwick.ac.uk or call us on +44 2476 150221 to discuss opportunities.

    Enterprise and Innovation

We are always looking for ways to improve entrepreneurial thinking and innovation amongst our current students. We would like to set up more opportunities for industry/academic partnerships in order to do this. If you think we can help, please get in touch with f.j.friel@warwick.ac.uk or call us on +44 2476 150221
