Life at Warwick

The University of Warwick was founded in 1965 on a 290 hectare campus. Warwick is located near the historic town of Stratford-Upon Avon, about one hour by train north of London. As a university, Warwick is consistently ranked in the top ten of all major national rankings of British universities. Being a campus, it has an excellent range of sports, arts and entertainment facilities at hand, as well as a very active students union. In addition to the excellent teaching and learning facilities, it is a place that is well set up for you to enjoy your time at.

The University of Warwick is set in a 720 acre landscaped campus. This includes four lakes and two woodland areas perfect for relaxing in the summertime.

We have world-class sporting facilties at Warwick. This includes a large sports centre with gym, indoor climbing wall, 25-metre swimming pool, several all-weather tennis courts, 60 acres of outdoor playing fields and 70 sports clubs.

Location

The main Warwick campus is 70 minutes from London, 20 minutes to Birmingham Airport and only a few miles from Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon. We are also near the busy towns of Leamington Spa and Kenilworth for all your shopping needs.

The campus provides a wide range of shops, cafes bars and restaurants. Banks, a pharmacy, doctor's surgery and post office are also on campus and open throughout the year.

The heart of the social scene, with eight bars and four food/coffee bars, the Union also has its own newspaper and radio station, as well as over 250 societies to choose from.

There are 2,000 events each year at the Warwick Arts Centre; an on campus facility that is one of the biggest of its type in the UK, and the largest arts centre outside of London.
