Profile

My name is Jamie Tomlinson and I am currently a PhD student working in the Fox group. I began my undergraduate degree at Warwick University in 2010 and completed my MChem in 2014. During my research year I worked on the synthesis of a novel anti-cholesterol PCSK9 inhibitor,1 supervised by Dr Fox. I am currently about to start the third year of my PhD working on the use of a stereospecific Jocic reaction in the total synthesis of vitamin E. At this point in my research I have completed the total synthesis of both α-tocopherol and γ-tocopherol. I am currently exploring further use of the Jocic reaction on tertiary trichlorocarbinol systems.
