Research Summary

Free radical chemistry in organic synthesis. Development of atom transfer radical cyclisations, radical-polar crossover reactions and cascade processes in natural product synthesis. Chemical biology, phage display and plant biochemistry. Sustainable materials, green chemistry, biomaterials and bioenergy. Use of plant oils to manufacture polyurethanes, epoxy resins and phenolic polymer composites, chemistry of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin.
