SelUCCR Summer School 2012 (12th-16th August)

SelUCCr Summer School 2012 will be held on the 12-16th August, at Abington in Oxfordshire.

The summer school is fully funded including accomadation and travel. Applications close 9:00am on Monday 11th June 2012.

This event is usually oversubscribed and only applicants who fill in the entire application form, including there reason for wanting to attend are likely to be accepted.

NAG/HECT0R Training Event on Daresbesbury Simulation Codes

The Centre for Scientific Computing at the University of Warwick will host a 2.5 day training event with NAG/HECToR on Daresbury Simulation Codes. It will take place on Monday 16th April until Wednesday 18th April in CS0.07, Ground Floor, Computer Science Building.

CSC Postgraduate Day Prizes

The Centre for Scientific Computing's Postgraduate Day which was held on Wednesday 8th February 2012 was a great success, with over 30 posters and 4 talks.

CSC gave a prize for the best talk and the winner was:

Salvatore Cosseddu and the title of his talk was "Inactivation Process in the Potassium Ion Channel KcSA". Salvatore is a PhD student with the School of Engineering.

CSC gave two prizes for best posters and the winners was:

Neil Pearson and his poster is titled "Eco Genetics of Arabidopsis Thaliana from Reservoir Populations in Low-Disturbance Habilats". Neil is a PhD student with Life Sciences.

And

Aaron Finney and his poster is titled "Understanding the Stability of Prenucleation Calcium Carbonate Nanoclusters". Aaron is a PhD student with Chemistry.
