Pursuing a PostGraduate Degree at the Centre of Scientific Computing

Are you interested in learning how to do use and develop your computational skills as a scientist*? Choosing where to do it is undoubtedly the most important decision that will affect your career. This is true whether you eventually continue with scientific research and development, or apply the skills you are about to acquire differently. Our postgraduates have done both, with equal success.

On these pages we outline our research interests and expertise and the facilities within the centre, but we would encourage you to visit us so that you can talk to the researchers with whom you would work, see where you would work and the equipment that you would use.

Taught Degrees

Are you interested in learning computational science from more than just one supervisor and from the perspective of more than just one scientific discipline? CSC offers an exciting interdisciplinary taught Master course in Scientific Computing.

Research Degrees

The Centre has a PhD programme in Scientific Computing, together with an associated MSc by research. Projects to be carried out under these programmes will be supervised by a member of staff in one of the departments associated with the Centre, and students will spend time both in the department and in the centre.

*Clarification

Please note that we at the CSC concentrate on how to solve the science using computers. Most of our students come from the traditional natural science disciplines. We welcome applicants with a background in computer science, but our courses should not be confused with courses and degrees in computer science. In most cases it appears appropriate for computer scientists to apply directly at Warwick's Department of Computer Science.
