Our course is designed for technically minded graduates with a background in computer science, mathematics or the physical sciences. The course provides a distinctive perspective on data analytics that combines aspects of computer science, business, engineering and mathematics. Warwick's position as a research leader in data analytics is exemplified by our involvement in the Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s national institute for data science. Moreover, studying advanced data analytics at Warwick has a unique international flavour, as it is operated as part of Warwick's collaboration with the New York Centre for Urban Science and Progress.

Course Content

Among the elite courses of its kind in the UK, our programme places as much emphasis on the rigorous mathematical underpinning of data analytics as the application of these principles to real-world problems. This joint emphasis ensures that our graduates enter the professional world with a firm foundation on which to develop a fulfilling career, as well as the analytical skills and knowledge of modern tools that make them immediately valuable to employers.

CUSP Academics
The course has two components - a taught component and a dissertation. The taught component will allow you to acquire expertise and technical skills in cutting edge areas of data analytics, including computer security, data mining, natural language processing and visualisation, as well as experience of project management and scientific method.

The taught component is complemented by a dissertation project, undertaken primarily in the second half of your course, which offers the opportunity to specialise and explore areas of interest in greater depth. Your dissertation may be entirely research focussed or directed towards the application of advanced topics. Crucially, there is always scope for commercial support from a wide range of industrial partners, giving you the chance to establish industrial links during your course.

Enty Requirements

Academic: 2.1 undergraduate degree or higher in a mathematical, scientific or analytical discipline.

English Language: IELTS 6.5
