Research Development Manager

The Department of Computer Science is recruiting an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to fill the newly created post of Research Development Manager. The post holder will closely with academic and Professional Service colleagues to support the development and preparation of externally funded research projects in the Department by providing strategic input, key management information and comprehensive advice and assistance.

The post holder will play a key role in maintaining and increasing our level of research activity, underpinning our position as a top research-intensive Computer Science department

Research Fellow (Innovation Associate) (107687-0124)

We are looking for talented and versatile mathematicians and computer scientists to work as part of a team of interdisciplinary researchers at the new Centre for Applications of Mathematical and Computing Sciences (CAMaCS) at Warwick.

This is a new type of postdoctoral role, called an “Innovation Research Associate”, with focus on technical breadth. As part of the role, you will be expected to work within interdisciplinary academic teams to:

  • Work across different long-term and occasional short-term projects with diverse partnerships; Interface between academics in the Departments of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science and other partners in academia, business, government and industry;
  • Learn about and implement new modelling techniques for interdisciplinary projects;
  • Cultivate your own academic identity with a broad base of expertise;
  • Demonstrate thereby leadership through the development of novel data-centric modelling within other disciplines;
  • Engage in collaborative grant capture and impact acceleration.

You will hold a PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline. 

Your application should include a research statement, CV and list of publications, along with a cover letter, identifying and evidencing your experience with as many of the following areas as possible, preferably at least two: 

  • Machine learning and/or other quantitative modelling in AI
  • Statistical modelling
  • Interdisciplinary mathematical modelling
  • Numerical analysis and scientific computing

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.
