Biography

Abhir Bhalerao is an Associate Professor in Computer Science. He received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in 1986 and 1992 respectively. He joined as faculty at Warwick in 1998 having been a research scientist with the NHS and Kings Medical School, London and a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School. His current research interests are in computer assisted medical diagnosis, anatomical object modelling and segmentation, people re-identification, and computer vision for intelligent vehicles. He has published around 80 refereed articles in image analysis, medical imaging, computer vision and machine learning. He was the co-chair of the British Machine Vision Conference, 2007 and Medical Image Understanding and Analysis, 2010. He was a co-founder of Warwick Warp Ltd., a university spin out company specializing in biometric technologies.
