Controlling Precise Movement with Stochastic Signals

Enrico Rossoni and Jianfeng Feng

Abstract: In a noisy system such as the nervous system, can movements be precisely controlled as experimentally demonstrated in [1]? We point out that the existing theory of motor control [2] fails to provide viable solutions. However, by adopting a generalized approach to non- convex optimization based on Young measures theory [3], we demonstrate that a precise moment control is possible even with stochastic control signals.
