The Digital Forensics Laboratory is interested in the use of computational methods in solving forensic problems and cybercrime. Our research encompasses Personalisation, Data Mining, Ensemble Modelling, Machine Learning, Case Based Reasoning, Text Mining, Embedded/Real-time Systems in Distributed Systems, Mobile/Ad-hoc/Sensor Network, Event Sequencing, Pattern Recognition, Digital Watermarking, Steganography and Steganalysis, Image Analysis, Bioinformatics, Computer Vision, Source Device Identification, Social and Criminal Network Inference, Digital Forensics Readiness. We have been quite successful in attracting external research funding from industry, EU and national funders such as EPSRC, Technology Strategy Board (TSB), the Nuffield Foundation and the Royal Society. Our work has involved inter-disciplinary collaborations with academics and industrial partners from UK and abroad.
