European Student Moon Orbiter (ESMO)

Welcome to the home of the European Student Moon Orbiter EPS team, a fourth year MEng project run by the University of Warwick School of Engineering and the European Space Agency (ESA) and managed by Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL)

. The team aims to develop the Electrical Power Systems (EPS) for the ESMO project: a lunar satellite, set to be launched in 2014.

WARWICK ESMO 2009-10

Teams of students from universities across ESA's member nations are contributing towards the satellite, which will serve an education outreach purpose, providing further images and mapping of the lunar surface, as well as delivering up to 3 other payloads.

The 2009/10 Warwick team's responsibilities are the detailed design, simulation and prototyping of the EPS, including the solar arrays and battery, as well as the power distribution and control aspects.
