EVGP - Our Project

As a group of nine fourth year masters student from a range of engineering disciplines in Warwick, our team is taking on the challenge to design and build an electric go-kart, improve it and race with other student teams from different universities across the globe in the upcoming 2012 Electric Vehicle Grand Prix (evGP), an annual international event held by the Purdue University in Indiana, U.S. The event has been publicly supported by U.S. President Obama.
In 2011, a team of Warwick students entered the evGP as an extra curricular activity, achieving an overall finish of 4th out of 30 international collegiate entrants. Being the first year to participate in the EVGP as our final year group project, we understand this means much more than just a race. Our aim is to investigate and learn more on the development on future electric vehicle technologies and design a Green, Reliable and Efficient electric go-kart. Throughout the process, we are also looking to raise public awareness on eco-friendliness and share our experience with the younger generations.
This year, we are going to take part in two major events in U.S., namely the Purdue evGrandPrix at Purdue University and the Indianapolis Purdue Collegiate evGrandPrix at the Indianpolis Race Circuit. We will be working around the clock to achieve our targets. Time's running short...
