    Air-coupled Ultrasound

The group has significant experience with air-coupled ultrasound transducers and applications. We have a long standing relationship with Microacoustic Instruments Inc. as well as producing our own transducers.

    Examples of research include:

    1. Focussed devices for imaging surface features
    2. Air-coupled NDE of materials and structures
    3. Measurements of thin materials
    4. The use of gas jets to control directivity
    5. Flow and temperature tomography
    6. Monitoring of food quality
