Dr. Tardi Tjahjadi has expertise in the areas of multiresolution image processing, image enhancement, physics-based colour image processing, object tracking and motion estimation, 3D object reconstruction, expert systems and adaptive fuzzy reasoning. He has published numerous papers in these areas. Currently he supervises three research students and heads the Image Processing and Expert Systems (IPES) Laboratory.
Dr. Tjahjadi has developed several algorithms for: enhancing images; a multiscale step and roof edge detection using cubic B-splines; colour image segmentation and physics-based image restoration; object matching & tracking using constraint cubic B-splines and multiresolution optical flow; recovery of scene structure from an image sequence; multiple-view camera calibration; multiresolution image texture segmentation; and octree-based object reconstruction from multiple views.
Dr. Tjahjadi has also developed expert systems for X-ray rocking curve analysis, X-ray image topography, image contrast enhancement, and differential diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea.
