ACCESSING THE Godzilla(COW) MACHINE

• Run the PUTTY software
• Enter the HOST name as "godzilla.csc.warwick.ac.uk"
• Enter "Godzilla" in saved sessions (when using the putty software for the first time to acess solar)
• Click the SAVE button to save the session
• Click OPEN to start the session
• Enter IT Services Usercode as login name
• Enter your CSC account password. 
• After that, whenever want to acess solar from Laptop, just click on "Godzilla" in saved cessions and click LOAD button

ACCESSING THE SOLAR MACHINE

• Run the PUTTY software
• Enter the HOST name as "solar.warwick.ac.uk"
• Enter "Solar" in saved sessions (when using the putty software for the first time to acess solar)
• Click the SAVE button to save the session
• Click OPEN to start the session
• Enter IT Services Usercode as login name
• Enter your password for solar 
• After that, whenever want to acess solar from Laptop, just click on "Solar" in saved cessions and click LOAD button

ACCESSING THE CSC MACHINES (SGI ALTIX)

• Add your private key by running the PAGEANT software (In case if you have not generated your private key, it can be generated using PUTTYGEN software.
• Run the PUTTY software
• Enter the HOST name as "skua.csc.warwick.ac.uk" for SGI Altix
• Enter "Altix" in saved sessions (when using the PUTTY software for the first time to acess csc machines)
• Click the SAVE button to save the session
• Click OPEN to start the session
• Enter IT Services Username as login name
• Enter your Paraphrase for skua .
• After that, whenever want to acess SGI Altix from Laptop, just click on "Argus" in saved sessions and click LOAD button

TRANSFERING FILES TO/FROM SOLAR

• Run Winscp382 software.
• Enter the HOST name as "solar.warwick.ac.uk"
• Enter Username as "esrgai"
• Enter password and press LOGIN button.
• Select the file to be copied from desktop/solar and press F5 and choose the direstory where the files are to be copied.
• Press the copy button.

TRANSFERING FILES FROM THE CSC MACHINES (SGI ALTIX)

• Run Winscp382 software
• Enter the HOST name as "skua.csc.warwick.ac.uk" for SGI Altix
• Enter IT Services Usercode as Username
• Enter password
• Specify the private key file by browsing and press LOGIN button
• Enter paraphrase again
• Select the file to be copied from desktop/solar and press F5 and choose the direstory where the files are to be copied.
• Press the copy button.
