On behalf of the organising committee we are very pleased to invite you to participate in the joint 3rd UK InterPore Conference and 1st Monash-Warwick PREFRAC Workshop at University of Warwick.

The UK chapter of International Society for Porous Media (UK InterPore) is the international society’s representative organisation in the UK. It was established in 2015 with the aim of strengthening the porous media- related research in the UK, by creating synergy among UK-based researchers both in academia and industry, and to establish and maintain formal links with similar organisations in Europe and beyond. UK InterPore is a fast growing community and since its start in 2015, it has held very successful annual events in Edinburgh (2015) and in Loughborough (2016).This year the UK InterPore conference will be held jointly with the 1st Monash-Warwick PREFRAC Workshop on Hydraulic Fracturing. Prediction and environmental optimisation of hydraulic fracturing for shale gas development (PREFRAC) is a joint project between University of Warwick and 3GDeep research group of Monash University. The aim of the PREFRAC Workshop is to provide a platform to exchange knowledge and ideas, and discuss the state-of-the-art in hydraulic fracturing research and practice. The event is intended to be small-scale but high-quality, with lively discussions to promote, exchange and disseminate knowledge and ideas that will hopefully foster new research collaborations.

The conference and workshop will be held at the School of Engineering of the University of Warwick. We plan to have keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations. The conference dinner will be held at Scarman House on Monday 4th September 2017. We hope that you will enjoy Warwick during the conference.
