The carpentry section of the departments workshops provides technicians, academics and students with a wide variety of carpentry services. The carpenters shop has a wide range of equipment including a 18" table saw, band saw, lathe, planer / thicknesser, morticer and various hand tools. Wood types used in construction range from pine to exotic hard woods. Items produced in the shop can be seen all around the school, including the specially built reception areas and purpose made experimental and research equipment.

 

 

The department is open Monday to Friday, 08:00-12:30 13:00-16:00.
