    RESEARCH PROFILE

During my Ph.D I focused on studying the energetic and structural aspects of protein phosphorylation. I investigated the effect of resulting charge-charge interactions of phosphorylation to protein structure and to protein-protein cooperativity, using continuum electrostatics and bioinformatics methods.

I moved from structural biology to paleogenomics after joining the Allaby Research Group.
    My current projects involve:
    - bioinformatic analysis and evolutionary modelling of ancient DNA obtained from archaeobotanical samples of Nubian barley and new and old world cottons.
    - developing stochastic optimisation methods for multiplex PCR primer design.
    - developing in silico systems for simulating the early domestication of crops since the Neolithic Era.
