Simmonics and Structure_Dist have been superceded with SSE (the Simmonic Sequence Editor). SSE provides an integrated environment where sequences can be aligned, annotated, classified and directly analysed by a number of built-in bioinformatic programs. This is a major upgrade and incorporates all the functionality (and more) previously provided by Simmonics and Structure_Dist.

All users are encouraged to use SSE. Full details and registration are provided on the SSE website.

Detection of genome-scale ordered RNA structure (GORS) in genomes of positive-stranded RNA viruses: Implications for virus evolution and host persistence by Simmonds, P., Tuplin, A. & Evans, D. J. [2004]. RNA 10, 1337-1351

Each ZIP file contains alignments in SIMMONIC (SIM) and FASTA (FST) format.
