    Molecular Structure and Mechanism

    Molecular Structure

Understanding the molecular structures and mechanisms of proteins provides a valuable insight into biological processes. Using molecular biology, genomic, proteomic and crystallography techniques, researchers in the School of Life Sciences are pursuing multiple lines of investigation.

Professor Robert Freedman Protein folding and expression
    Professor Vilmos Fulop Protein crystallography
Professor John McCarthy Post-transcriptional control of gene expression
Dr Teresa Pinheiro Structure and folding of prions
    Professor Colin Robinson Protein transport
Dr David Roper Microbial degradation of aromatic chemicals, bacterial cell wall biosynthesis and cell division mechanisms
    Professor Jim Scrivens Protein structure
    Dr Corinne Smith Macromolecular assemblies
