    The bioprocessing and biotechnology industries are a major component of global industrialised economies with impacts in medicine, food manufacturing and the fabrication and testing of biopharmaceutical products. Revolutionary new products and services have emerged and the pace of change is high with demands for increased capacity and efficiency, reduced production costs and rapid time to market.

    Management of change requires a new calibre of technical specialist; a person capable of analysing and resolving problems in a timely and effective manner. Ideally this specialist will have business acumen and a knowledge base that integrates a broad spectrum of relevant expertise. The Masters in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing and Business Management is focussed to equip its students with the necessary tools and expertise to become such a person, offering key business information and industrially-relevant knowledge.

    This MSc opens opportunities in a wide range of biotechnology and related industrial sectors for graduates with a multidisciplinary knowledge of the underpinning science and processing technologies, together with the necessary business acumen.     On completion of the course, graduates are offered the opportunity to apply for a 3-6 month internships. These range from business/marketing assignments through product development to fundamental research and will be offered on a competitive basis.

    Minimum second class Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering or Business Studies (students from an engineering or business background must demonstrate an interest in biological science).
