Fluid dynamics and turbulence

This classical field remains remarkably rich. Particularly when interpreted in the broadest sense, turbulence occurs in a wealth of systems, not only in oceans and atmospheres, but also from the solar wind, semiconductor lasers, and superfluids. This area has undergone a recent resurgence driven by its enormous applications potential, its role as a natural paradigm for non-equilibrium systems and by some new discoveries connected with intermittency and the random occurrence of coherent events and provides a plethora of research projects across [A, C, P, S].
