I graduated! I am now at Université de Nantes http://www.math.sciences.univ-nantes.fr/fr/membres/3152

Contact: rhiannon.dougall at univ-nantes.fr

Formerly PhD student at University of Warwick...

PhD: Oct 2013-2017. Supervisor: Professor Richard Sharp.

Research interests:

Interactions between Dynamics and Ergodic Theory, Group Theory and Geometry. More specifically, the thermodynamic formalism for subshifts of finite type, with a view to the geometry of negatively curved manifolds. In my PhD I have studied the relationship between geometrical/dynamical data of regular covering manifolds, the spectrum of group extended transfer operators, and Kazhdan distances for representations.

Publications:

Amenability, critical exponents for subgroups and growth of closed geodesics, Mathematische Annalen, 2016, 19 pages, (with R. Sharp). Here (open access)

Critical exponents of normal subgroups, the spectrum of group extended transfer operators, and Kazhdan distance. arXiv https://arxiv.org/abs/1702.06115
