From Chaos to Complexity

Complexity Science can be seen as an outgrowth from the study of Deterministic Chaos. The aim of this workshop is to trace some of the steps and to evaluate the potential for new directions.

A particular welcome is extended to the participants of the formative Les Houches school in 1981 on "Chaotic Behaviour of Deterministic Systems", on the occasion of its 30th anniversary.

Funding is available towards the expenses of participants who can contribute to the theme of "The Mathematics of Complexity Science and Systems Biology" and to selected active researchers in dynamical systems and ergodic theory (in particular, invitees to the Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems workshop 4-6 July or conference 11-15 July who wish to also attend "From Chaos to Complexity" may request the additional days' accommodation expenses). We are particularly interested in supporting young researchers.

Schedule: start with buffet lunch on Weds 6 July, end with festivities Friday evening 8 July.
