Partial Differential Equations in Biology

22-23 June 2017
Organisers: Björn Stinner & Vanessa Styles

The life sciences are a field of increasing interest for mathematicians, not least thanks to ongoing developments in experimental and computational methodology which reveals more and more detail of the spatio-temporal heterogeneity of biological systems. The focus of this workshop is on continuum approaches and related numerical methods to phenomena in cell biology and cancer. The objective is to bring together researchers with various backgrounds such as modelling of such phenomena, analysing the emerging PDEs, developing and analysing suitable numerical methods to integrate them, and/or carrying out simulations with the aim of quantifying and explaining experimental data.
