Hyperbolic Geometry

The group has developed over many years and at any one time includes several research students, postdocs and visitors.

Activities are based around a weekly seminar and informal meetings. The Warwick Symposium 2006-7, Low Dimensional Geometry and Topology, which attracted many leading figures in the field, was organised by members of the group, and the workshop topics provide a good reflection of its interests.

The group's activities have considerable overlap with other members of the department, in particular in dynamical systems; geometric and combinatorial group theory; geometric analysis and fractals and low dimensional topology.

Topics of interest include:

  • Large scale structure of Teichmuller space
  • Homomorphisms of the circle
  • Symbolic dynamics
  • Moduli spaces of surfaces
