MIRaW - Mathematical Interdisciplinary Research at Warwick

    Monday 11 May 2009
    Biomembranes: Modelling and Computation

Organisers: Charlie Elliott (Warwick), Barbara Niethammer (Oxford), Matthew Turner (Warwick)

(Joint with EPSRC Symposium on Challenges in Scientific Computing and Oxford Centre for Nonlinear PDE)

    Introduction

Lipid bilayers as a ubiquitous component in biological systems have ever been attracting the interest of researchers from various disciplines. This workshop focuses on the remarkable mechanical properties of biomembranes and intends to bring together mathematicians and biophysicists to discuss modelling and computational issues.
