MSc and PhD Scholarships and Funding Opportunities

Funding

uk_flag.jpg For UK students we have a limited number of EPSRC/MRC studentships covering tuition fees, plus a maintenance grant of £14,553 pa, for the MSc+PhD programme starting in September 2017.

EU students can also qualify for funding as per UK above, provided you satisfy both of the following:
(a) you will have been ordinarily resident (includes for study) in the UK for the three years immediately preceding when you would start with us;
(b) you have a relevant connection with the UK (it is in some sense already your home).

If you are seeking funding on the above basis, please apply as soon as you can because it can take time to confirm your eligibility - these are UK Government rules, not our own.

eu_flag.jpg For other EU students the main EPSRC/MRC funding can only cover fees, not maintenance allowance, 1 studentship per year can cover maintenance too, for an exceptional candidate.

If you will be funding the MSc only without wishing to progress to PhD there are different methods of funding your studies such as career development loans - please see here for further details.

unflagcrop.jpg For funding of other students from outside EU, and for maintenance of non-resident EU students, our scope to offer any funding through the CDT is extremely limited. An EPSRC /MRC rule allows us to offer one studentship per year to an exceptional student of any citizenship, including maintenance grant and fees at the EU rate. For exceptional candidates with predominantly mathematical bent, there may be a possibility for the Mathematics department to pay the difference between overseas and EU fees.

There are also opportunities for joint PhD funding as part of the Warwick-Monash Alliance- for more information please visit http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/about/partnerships/monash/study/
