    CARL BLAKEY

It was with great sadness that, on May 8th 2009, the University reported the death of Carl Blakey, a postgraduate student within MOAC. Our thoughts continue to be with Carl's friends and family.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor Nigel Thrift said:

"The sudden death of a student brings great sadness to everyone in our community. Carl lived close to the campus and studied in a building in the very heart of that campus. The loss of his young life will touch many of us."

The MOAC Director Alison Rodger spoke at Carl's funeral. The text may be found at Carl's funeral address.
