PX144 Introduction to Astronomy
Lecturer
Overview
These pages contain information about the module PX 144, "Introduction to Astronomy". The pages will always be the place to look for the most up-to-date information on the course. The course content has undergone some revision in recent years, so not all material you may find in old PX144 exams are still in the course. The slides provide the best overview of the current course content.
Timetable
This course will run in term 2 of the academic year, covering weeks 20-24. Lectures will be on Tuesdays 14:00-15:00 (MS.01), Thursdays 17:00-18:00 (MS.02) and Fridays 9:00-10:00 in MS.01. Any changes to the schedule will be listed here as well as communicated via e-mail to all registered module takers.
Slides and Handouts
Materials used in the lectures can be found in the Slides and handouts section.
Problem Sheets
A total of 5 problem sheets will be handed out. You can find them here.
Past Exams
You can lookup past exam papers here. Note that solutions are only available for one particular year. Older exams are good practise material although be aware that some course content revision has occured in recent years, so not all of the old exam questions are still relevant with the current syllabus, in particular pre-2007 exams.
