Silicon Quantum Information Processing Meeting

Friday 14th September 2012

Department of Physics, University of Warwick

Organisers:

Gavin W. Morley (Physics, Warwick)

Andrew J. Ferguson (Physics, Cambridge)

Organised by the Institute of Physics BRSG: Magnetic Resonance Group
Co-sponsored by Physics Days at Warwick, the IOP Nanoscale Physics and Technology Group, the IOP Quantum Electronics and Photonics Group, the IOP Quantum Optics, Quantum Information, Quantum Control Group, and the IOP Semiconductor Physics Group

Background

Quantum computing is an exciting leap beyond the classical computing that is so important to our current society. If a quantum computer could be built then it could solve certain problems that are intractable on any existing computer. Silicon is the material of choice for modern computers and it could provide a platform for QIP also.

This meeting brought together researchers interested in silicon qubits. Topics covered included experimental and theoretical approaches to quantum spin control, device fabrication and electronic transport.

Programme

This was a one day workshop featuring a selection of talks and posters. The invited speakers were:

Professor Christoph Boehme (University of Utah, USA)

Professor Martin S Brandt (Technische Universität München, Germany)

Participants

Registration for this conference was at www.SiQIP.com. Members of staff and students at The University of Warwick could register for free.
