PhD thesis prize of the IOP Computational Physics Group for Andrew Goldsborough

Each year, the Computational Physics Group awards a Thesis Prize to the author of the PhD thesis that, in the opinion of the Committee, contributes most strongly to the advancement of computational physics.

The winner of this year's Thesis Prize is Cathal O Broin for his thesis entitled "A New GPU-based Computational Framework for the Ab initio Solution of the TDSE for Atomic and Molecular One-Electron Systems under Intense Ultra-Short Laser Fields”, which was undertaken at Dublin City University.

Runner-up prizes are awarded to Andrew Goldsborough, for his thesis entitled "Tensor Networks and Geometry for the Modelling of Disordered Quantum Many-Body Systems", carried out at the University of Warwick, and Patrick Cannon, for his thesis entitled “Numerical Simulation of Wave-Plasma Interactions in the Ionosphere”, carried out at the University of Lancaster.

Congratulations!
