Christmas Lectures

Six Warwick Christmas Lectures presented science in an entertaining, festive and educational way to over 2,500 people - half from local schools and half general public. Topics ranged from gravitational waves to number theory, cake making to snow making, emotions to life in a cartoon universe. Great work from Ally Caldecote, Rachel Edwards and Greg Brown in Physics, together with Liz Balgrove (Psychology), Richard Lissaman (Maths) and Selina Kermode (Chemistry), which included senior professors dancing in tutus, communal singing of Let it Snow, loads of excited audiences and quite a lot of science communicated.

Plenty of positive feedback including "That was the most awesome Christmas Lecture ever. Magic was created before my eyes." and "I was one of your audience yesterday with 40 of my Y6 children. They loved it and it was pitched and delivered perfectly for their age and understanding. You did a great job!"
