How can we be sure that bridges are road worthy? Can we be certain that aeroplane engines aren't cracked, or pipes in power stations dangerously eroded? Luckily ultrasound can be used to scan more than babies, and a process called Non-Destructive Testing is used everyday to keep you safe. Professor Steve Dixon will talk you through some of the life saving applications of ultrasound, along with some cool demonstrations.
