Research Assistant- £23,811 - £26,779 pa - Research Fellow- £27,578 - £35,938 pa
Fixed Term Contract for 3 Years
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant or Fellow position to work on a project led by Dr Erwin Verwichte in the Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics at the University of Warwick, to study magnetohydrodynamic waves (specifically Compressional Alfvén Eigenmodes) and their interaction with energetic particles in magnetically confined fusion. The work will involve theoretical and numerical modelling of MHD wave physics in magnetically confined plasmas as well as comparison with experimental data in collaboration with national and international fusion facilities (e.g. using MAST at CCFE). You will have, or expect to attain, a PhD or equivalent degree in an area relevant to high temperature plasma physics, and your future research must strengthen the Centre's programme in fusion plasmas.
