Study at the iMR Centre for Doctoral Training
The Centre for Doctoral Training has four year PhDs available at the Universities of Warwick, St Andrews/Dundee, Southampton, Nottingham and Aberdeen spanning the fields of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Dynamic Nuclear Polarisation. Our goal is to unlock creativity and stimulate new technological developments in MR furthering the reach and increasing the impact.
The programme is open to graduates who will typically have, or be on course for, a 1st class degree in Physical Sciences. You should be looking for a challenging, interdisciplinary research training environment and have an active interest in the development of new technologies.
All PhD’s are fully funded including fees and maintenance allowance of £14,000 per annum, as well as an enhanced travel budget. In addition to this there will be opportunities to travel as part of your studies. Our students have a range of diverse scientific backgrounds. We aim to provide not just a traditional qualification but to equip our students with the cross-disciplinary communication and transferable skills necessary to be successful in the competitive employment market.
At least 10 places are available for September 2011 entry. A list of example projects (to which new projects are continually being added) can be found below. Please feel free to contact the project supervisors. For further information please contact Mark Newton (m.e.newton@warwick.ac.uk) the iMR CDT Director.
