NANOFUNCTION
(Beyond CMOS Nanodevices for Adding Functionalities to CMOS)

NANOFUNCTION is a European Network of Excellence funded by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Program. The Warwick group were instrumental in setting up the first European Network of Excellence in Silicon-based Nanodevices (SiNANO) that had 51 partners and its successor project NANOSIL, which together ran from January 2004 to December 2011.

It aims to integrate at the European level the excellent European research laboratories in order to strengthen scientific and technological excellence in the field of novel nanoelectronic materials, devices and circuits for developing new integrated functions and disseminate the results in a wide scientific and industrial community. It is coordinated in Grenoble through CNRS by Francis Balestra.

There are four research Worpackages together with activity in integration and spreading of excellence.

Warwick are involved in:

  • coordinating the research work across all 15 partners
  • leading WP3 (electronic cooling)
