Ph.D. & Postdoctoral Job Opportunities
Ph.D. Research ProjectsPh.D. in Unconventional SuperconductivitY - Fully fUNDED project studentshipSupervisors: Don Paul (Warwick University) and Adrian Hillier (ISIS)The ISIS Neutron & Muon Facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and the Department of Physics at the University of Warwick wish to appoint a doctoral research student for the study of unconventional superconducting materials which exhibit unusual pairing mechanisms. The PhD student on this project would be involved in the growth and characterisation of polycrystalline and single crystals of such materials, would receive training in a wide variety of techniques of relevance to superconductivity and magnetism research and gain an appreciation of the field of neutron and muon physics for the study of vortex physics.
This PhD studentship is available from the beginning of October 2012. Please note, due to restrictions applied by the funding agency, only a UK or EU student can be supported on this project. To discuss the background to this project further contact either: D.M.Paul@warwick.ac.uk or Adrian.Hiller@stfc.ac.uk Ph.D. and M.SC. Research ProjectsWe always have places available for suitably qualified students who would like to work towards a Ph.D. or M.Sc. For more details please refer to the Ph.D research projects page. Project TitlesClick here Postdoctoral FellowshipsIf you are planning to apply for a fellowship (please see right for details of several schemes available to postdoctoral researchers) and you would like to discuss the possibility of us acting as your host institution please do not hesitate to contact us. At present we have no positions open for post doctoral staff. Technical PostsAt the moment the Superconductivity and Magnetism Group has no vacancies for Technical Staff.
