Flying thru a multifractal Visualization of a short flight through the 3D spatial electronic wave function probability distribution. Cubes have colour if the probability is larger than average with blue the smallest probability and red the largest. Note that the camera look at a region of high probability with the red cube representing the largest probability value. The electronic state is in a disordered system right at the Anderson metal-to-insulator transition [Schenk, Bollhöfer, Römer, SIAM Reviews 50, 91-112 (2008)] (32 MB) Rudolf Roemer 04/04/12 Anderson visualization, critical states
Rotating bubbles Visualization of a rotating 3D spatial electronic wave function probability distribution. Spheres have colour if the probability is larger than average with blue the smallest probability and red the largest. The electronic state is in a disordered system right at the Anderson metal-to-insulator transition [Schenk, Bollhöfer, Römer, SIAM Reviews 50, 91-112 (2008)] (13 MB) Rudolf Roemer 04/04/12 Anderson visualization, critical states
Rotating fog representation Visualization of a fog representation of the 3D spatial electronic wave function probability distribution. Cubes have colour with purple/dark blue indicating the smallest probability and red the largest. The electronic state is in a disordered system right at the Anderson metal-to-insulator transition [Schenk, Bollhöfer, Römer, SIAM Reviews 50, 91-112 (2008)] (9.2 MB) Rudolf Roemer 04/04/12 Anderson visualization, critical states
Rotating multifractal A visualization of a rotating multifractal at size 350*350*350 at the Anderson transition. Larger probabilities are given by larger cubes and only shown if above average. The colour just denotes different spatial positions along a single coordinate. (19 MB) Rudolf Roemer 04/04/12 Anderson visualization, critical states
Rotating multifractal, take 2 As in the other visualization, this is a representation of a multifractal. Here, it's the world record size of 350*350*350 [Schenk, Bollhöfer, Römer, SIAM Reviews 50, 91-112 (2008)]. (13 MB) Rudolf Roemer 04/04/12 Anderson visualization, critical states
Star trekking thru a multifractal Visualization of a flight through a multifractal electronic probability distribution at the Anderson metal-insulator transition. Cubes represent probabilities larger than the mean probability and are larger if the probability is larger. Colours similarly indicate low (blue) and high (red) probabilities. The system is a 100*100*100 cube and periodically extended in all three spatial directions. We applied some attenuation for far away cubes [Schenk, Bollhöfer, Römer, SIAM Reviews 50, 91-112 (2008)]. (23 MB) Rudolf Roemer 04/04/12 Anderson visualization, critical states, Star Trek
