Scientific Meetings
International meetings and workshops are a crucial part of scientific advancement. Specialised workshops for teaching advanced material to graduate students and industry researchers are also very important. I'm often involved in organisation of both types of meetings and some are listed here.

Two highly interactive and successful SemiconNano workshopshave been held to date, the first in Bonassola, Italy, and the secondin Anan, Japan. I chaired the programme committee for the Anan meeting and co-organised the original meeting with Dr. Giovanni Costantini.
The next SemiconNano meeting will be in Linz, September 2011.
Experimental Techniques of Semiconductor Research
The ESTR course provides a one-day introduction to important experimental methods used in research into semiconductors.
MICROSCIENCE and UK Scanning Probe Microscopy
At the MICROSCIENCE2010 meeting, run by the Royal Microscopical Society, I co-organised a session on imaging techniques using synchrotron radiation with Dr. Christoph Rau at the Diamond Light Source.
I co-organised the UK SPM meeting in 2005 at Warwick with Prof. Julie Macpherson.
