Dr Marco Polin

I am an Associate Professor in the Physics Department, with joint appointment at Warwick Medical School and Centre for Mechanochemical Cell Biology. My current interest is mainly focused on the biophysics of microorganisms, one of the most important and diverse group of organisms on Earth. I study how they interact with the physical world and with each other, from the workings of individual organelles to the behaviour of populations.

I am a member of the Soft Matter and Biological Fluid Dynamics Lab within the Physics Department.

Before coming to the University of Warwick I have been a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow and a EPSRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Raymond Goldstein (DAMTP, University of Cambridge). I did my Ph.D. in the Center for Soft Matter Research, NYU, working on colloidal interactions with holographic optical tweezers under the supervision of David Grier.
