Sourabh Barua

I am currently a post doctoral researcher in the superconductivity and magnetism group working under the supervision of Prof. Geetha Balakrishnan. My current research is on topological insulators. I plan to grow bulk single crystals and nanomaterials of various current topological insulator materials as well as new materials which are probable candidates for topological insulators. I shall study these materials using transport measurements and structural characterization techniques like X-ray diffraction and high resolution electron microscopy. I did my PhD from the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India in the year 2015 on the electrical transport studies of the topological insulator materials Bi2Te3, Sb2Te3 and Bi2-xSbxTe3-ySey under the supervision of Prof. K. P. Rajeev. In my PhD I looked for the signatures of the topological surface states in the transport properties of these materials using mainly the Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations in the magnetoresistance. Following is a list of my publications.
