Current research
The Warwick Reading Beliefs Project. We are developing a new questionnaire to assess children's self efficacy with respect to reading. We expect that children who are more confident in their own abilities will progress better because they are more confident to attempt harder words when reading. The co-ordinator of this project is Amy Williamson.
The Warwick Morphology and Phonology Project. This is a three year project examining the links between phonological difficulties (such as those shown by children with dyslexia or hearing impairments) and morphological skills. The co-ordinator of this project is Helen Breadmore.
The Importance of Baby Signing - does doing baby signing affect your child's language development? We are now analysing and writing up this research - update coming soon!
The links between early speech and later literacy in the ALSPAC dataset.
Then there's a project creating a lexicon of child directed speech.
