Travel

Directions to the University can be found on the main University Website at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/about/visiting/ together with road and campus maps.  The site includes directions by car, coach, train and bus.  The nearest train station to the University is Coventry Station. Please note that the University is in the city of Coventry and not in the town of Warwick!

If you are travelling by air, Birmingham International is the closest major airport to the University. You can travel by train direct from the Airport to Coventry Train Station in around 15 minutes. You might also consider taking a taxi from Birmingham airport. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes and will cost approximately £30.  The following webpage provides more information for participants arriving from outside the UK, http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/international/offerholders/travel/.

Conference delegates are invited to park in the Conference car parks 6, 7 & 8 with overflow, if necessary, in car park 15.  If you are parked in car parks 15 or 7, you will need to collect an exit-code from Rootes Reception in order to leave. Car parking in these conference car-parks is free of charge during the event. Should you use other car-parks charges may apply. Guests staying in Scarman House (50 on the campus map) may use the car park in front of the Scarman building.  All of the University’s car parks are displayed on the campus map

If you need any help, please contact Mary Peterson.

Summer School Registration

Registration on Sunday 19th July will take place in Room A401 of the Engineering Building (number 18 on the campus map) starting at  2:30pm.  Signs to the room will be posted from the building entrances on the afternoon of the registration.  At registration you will receive your delegate information and badge from the Registration Desk.  Please wear your badge at all times as it will allow entry to the restaurants and help with security.

The introduction to the course will take place at 4:00pm in A401 in the Engineering Building (number 18 on the campus map).  This will be followed by the competency based maths test to allow participants to be grouped for the initial tutorial exercises on the Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.  Please note that groupings for the problem solving sessions on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning will be determined by participant problem selection.

Accommodation

Check in for accommodation in student rooms is in the Rootes Social Building (48 on the campus map). Rooms may not be available until after the Summer School introduction, but luggage may be left there any time during the day in a secure luggage store.

Check in for accommodation at Scarman House (50 on the campus map) is also after the introduction. Again, luggage may be left in secure storage, at Rootes, at any time.

Venues

Venues for the presentations starting on Monday morning will be room A023 in the Social Studies Buildings, (numbers 53 on the campus map).   For the tutorial and problem solving session, the computer teaching laboratory (room F211) in the engineering building (number 18 on the campus map) has been reserved for our use.
