    Information regarding individual APTS weeks

    Below you can find information regarding local arrangements for each APTS week, including contact details, provisional timetables and travel advice. You will be notified by email when important new information appears here relating to an APTS week for which you are registered.

    Please note: if you have a query regarding any local arrangements for a given week, you should contact the local organisers (whose details will be listed below nearer the time of the respective APTS week), and not APTS itself.


    Week 4: University of Glasgow (3rd September 2012 - 7th September 2012)

    Week 3: University of Warwick (2nd July 2012 - 6th July 2012)

    • Modules: Applied Stochastic Processes (S. B. Connor & C. Goldschmidt); Computer Intensive Statistics (B. Ripley)
    • Information Booklet: This Information Booklet is provisional. The final version will appear here in due course and it will be provided in printed form when you arrive.
    • Travel: Information on how to get to University of Warwick. Please note the key point, if travelling by train, the closest train station is not Warwick Station. iPad, iPhone and Android-device users may find the start.Warwick app helpful.
    • Local Navigation: A map of the campus will help you to locate registration and lectures in the Mathematics & Statistics building (building 39) and your accommodation in the Rootes building (building 53). Again, the start.Warwick app may be helpful.
    • Car Parking: Workshop participants are invited to use conference car park 7 or 8a. Car parking is free of charge during your event in the conference car parks, both of which are shown on the enclosed campus map. If you park in either of these car parks, you will need a token to exit --- these should be collected from Rootes reception when you check in.
    • Accommodation: Students can collect keys to their accommodation from Rootes reception. Please see the information booklet for details.
    • Registration: Registration for the APTS week will take place between 11.15am and 12.45pm on Monday 2nd July, 2012; just inside the main entrance to the Zeeman building (i.e. the one which houses the Mathematics and Statistics Departments).
    • Academy Dinner / Special requirements: The dress code for the academy dinner is smart casual. Please complete this form by 15th June to provide a menu choice for the academy dinner and to let us know of any special requirements.

    Week 2: University of Nottingham (16th April, 2012 -- 20th April, 2012)

    • Local organiser: Chris Brignell - Chris dot Brignell at nottingham dot ac dot uk
    • Modules: Statistical Modelling (J. J. Forster & D. Woods); Statistical Asymptotics (A. Wood)
    • Information Booklet: The information booklet will be provided in printed form on arrival.
    • Travel: All APTS activities will take place on the University Park Campus at the University of Nottingham.
    • Car Parking: Delegates who are staying in the Hall can obtain a parking permit from the Hall office when they collect their room key. This, when completed with details such as name, conference and hall of residence should be displayed in the car for Security to see, and then parking is free. There are spaces close to the the Hall. Further information on car parking.
    • Accommodation: All accommodation is in Lenton and Wortley Hall. Keys can be collected from the main reception area. For participants who arrive in the 11.15 am -- 12.45 pm window on the Monday, please register before picking up your key. Accommodation is in single rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. All bed linen, bath towels and toiletries will be provided.
    • Internet Access in Accommodation:There are wireless hot-spots in Lenton and Wortley Hall. Wired access is available in individual rooms --- please bring an Ethernet cable to take advantage of it. Login details will be provided on arrival.
    • Registration: Registration for the APTS week will take place between 11.15am and 12.45pm on Monday 16th April 2012 at the main entrance to Lenton and Wortley Hall, University Park Campus.
    • Special requirements: Please complete this form to provide us with information about any special requirements -- even if you don't have any! We need, at least, to know who wishes to attend the academy dinner.
    • Recommended Academy Dinner Dress Code: Smart casual

    Week 1: University of Cambridge (9th January 2012 - 13th January 2012)

    • Information Booklet: The APTS Week Information Booklet will be provided in printed form when you arrive.
    • Travel: Information on how to get to University of Cambridge can be found here. On the same website, you can also find a link to a map that shows both the Centre for Mathematical Sciences and ChurchillCollege (where students will be staying).
    • Car Parking: Limited car parking is available at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences. The vehicle entry point is on Wilberforce Road. You will need to press the buzzer to get reception to open the barrier for you. The car park may be used for overnight parking.
    • Accommodation: Churchill College is about five minutes walk away from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences. Information on Churchill College is available here. Keys can be collected from the porters' lodge at the place of accommodation. Accommodation is in single rooms with shared bathroom facilities. All bed linen and bath towels will be provided. Internet access is available free of charge in each bedroom, however you will need to provide you own Ethernet cable or buy one from the porters' lodge for £4.00. Wi-Fi access is available in all public areas. For check in on Monday 9 January, the porters' lodge will be open from 10am.
    • Registration: Registration for the APTS week will take place between 11.15am and 12.45pm on Monday 9 January 2012 just inside the main entrance to the Centre for Mathematical Sciences.
    • Special requirements: Please complete this form to provide us with information about any special requirements -- even if you don't have any! We need, at least, to know who wishes to attend the academy dinner.
    • Recommended Academy Dinner Dress Code: Formal (lounge suit or equivalent)
